From the lecture hall to the site

Dr. Mohamed Hafez Matthana founded Dar Al Benaa in 1991, the year he completed his master’s degree in structural engineering and three years after he began teaching at Mansoura University’s Faculty of Engineering.

He earned his doctorate at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore in 1997, has been associate professor of structural engineering at Mansoura since 2003, where he still teaches today, and co-wrote the reinforced concrete design notes that Mansoura engineering students study from. Alongside his teaching, the office has worked continuously since 1991, and it still works the way he teaches: no drawing leaves the office until its calculations have been checked.
